Not trying to be rude, but a 53' fixed spread is one goofy look'n wagon, only on par with a 53' fixed spread highboy..

Get a slider if you can find one.
Longer loads such as 40'+ rebar, pipe, 40' heavy containers, anything long you can't use load levelers with you'll end up over weight on the spread..

I'm a fixed spread 48'. 8'upper 40'5" lower & 46k lb 40' rebar had my spread 360lb over & only 75k gross..o_O That set foward fixed 53' would be way over 40k lb back there..

Yep, this is defiantly the strangest pulling trlr and weird to load. It's an old Hornady trlr that cotc has, hopefully won't be keeping it too long. At least there isn't a low hanging side box on this one. But this is a step in the process. Would rather do a stepdeck or get into rgn stuff.

Ya that's the problem with step decks. Too short of a top deck and you can't slide your fifth wheel anywhere to get some weight on the front axle without hitting the drop. Too long and you run into the issue you had. Make the whole trailer longer and it gets heavy and weak if you haul heavy with it. Pita if ask me lol l would never get one unless l had regular customers that actually needed it. Not load broker freight that may or may not exist.

A 53' trailer used to be specialized and therefore they were paid accordingly. Then everybody went out and bought a 53'. End result? They are paid the same as a 48' just hauling more for less.

Well ended up with a 49' step, more of a project for the time being, but better than renting one
