Quite frankly, I'm not looking to work that hard. I also need the flexibility to take time off as needed that I currently enjoy. I need the flexibility more than I need more income. But with the expenses my wife and I will be facing, I just can't afford to start a new career right now.

This seems to be the most likely course of action right now. More later on most of these TTR network stations.

Considering your stated goals, if I were you, I would either sign a one year lease on your current truck, or look for a job.

I know.... You don't want to be a company hand, but you also want out of trucking.

Buying the truck would not be an option I would choose because of tax issues. You wouldn't own it long enough.

If you lease the truck your in, your payment will be lower w/ a higher MMA contribution. That means more money to you at lease end, barring any major break downs.

Be aware, new lease contracts have a $5000 remarketing fee if you terminate early.

At 285k miles, your truck probably could use a clean out of the after treatment system. This isn't a big deal and is part of regular maintenance, cost is usually $250-$300. Depending on when you had the last overhead run, that may be coming up as well.

I'm getting closer to making a decision. But I have a question for the Cascadia drivers here.

Have any of you upgraded your shocks, and did it make any improvement in ride and/or tire wear?

I'm leaning toward purchasing this unit, but the number one job is replacing this crummy drivers seat followed by the shocks.

Not many drivers left here. You might try the Garage section.

Try posting something negative about your shocks. I bet you will get a fast response.
