I feel as though I have 3 of the worlds best supporters. My Fiancee, my father and my mother. That eliminates most of the truckers problems right there. LOL. Now its time to prove to my old man that there is money out there and get this ball rolling!! Everything is good to go except the stupid trailer situation. When I left the road 53x102 was just becoming the biggest thing since sliced bread. Now it seems a 48 footer period is dang near obsolete. Let alone a 48x96. So thats why i came on the forum was to see if I am gonna have to drop big money on a trailer right off the bat or not. I would prefer to get my feet wet before I go hog wild. Ya get what I am saying?

Another suggestion, beer. 48x96 works well for beer loads. Most local distributors still run 48x96 trailers. I mean, anything food wise, 2 pallets alongside each other ( 40x48) fit perfectly in this trailer. You want to max out before you cube out, right ?

    Lilbit Thanks this.

Western Mi. has shrubs coming up if you don't mind the work out, I haven't done it in several years but it used to pay good and you didn't go far. Check out Zelinka nursery, they're in the Grand Haven area.

Guys thanks for all the info!!!! Uncle. No I don't mind work. I am 32. So hey whatever pays. As for Allow Me, your right 100% but most of the brokers I am seeing demand a 53x102. Ya know so they can stuff 30 pallets on ya and force a lumping fee to be paid. I guess. 80k is 80k. haste makes waste in my opinion. But keep the ideas coming. This is starting to look better and better.

The funny thing is, the brokers say they want the 53' wagons, but the beer load my hubby just picked up, they were glad he had a 48'. They didn't have to put bulkheads into the front of the trailer, which they do with the 53' wagons.

That's awesome. Love 48. I hate pulling a 53. Seems like wasted space.

Go out east with it, PA and Jersey. There was a place i delivered to in Philly that had new 96 inchers. Many brokers spec a 53 whether or not it is needed.

Much of WV is limited to 48 foot trailers, too. although I don't know how well it is enforced.

I wish we had some 48s for Chicago.
