Jasin,
From my perspective, it looks to me like you are just too young and inexperienced for the business right now. I don't mean to sound harsh, but this job out here demands a lot of common sense and maturity, and don't take this personally, but you are lacking in both right now. Like I said, don't take that personal, there's no way I would have made it in this business if I had entered it when I was 24. Some guys that age can make it out here, but most can't. The fact that you use what happened in your four-wheeler as an example of how great of a driver you are tells me everything I need to hear about your lack of understanding of the equipment behind you. I entered the business when I was 34, after driving taxicabs 12-14 hours a day since I had gotten out of high school. I thought I was the greatest driver out there, until I got into trucking. There I was just another rookie. And yeah, I had my share of accidents, but fortunately not as many as you had. Driving a 53' trailer isn't even comparable to driving a car. The fact that you obviously don't understand that quite frankly makes me happy I'm not sharing the road with you out here in your KLLM truck. I don't mean to sound harsh but it is what it is.
My best advice is to keep doing the driving job you are doing now for a few more years, and come back in a few years with a clean slate, a little bit more maturity, and do the training over again. A straight truck isn't a bad idea, if you can get such a job.

AfterShock and zincman Thank this.
-
I dont belive so, so you can all stop with the comments now, i get it, im a horrible truck driver and im not stepping foot in another for a long time, thank you.
-
They have never ever made a mistake in anything in there life..these people are on the c.b. Radio all the time telling everyone how great they are...they walk on water son..
But they do have some valid points..
Know i see why people do not post honest threads on here,because of what just happened to you.
So starting today jason you and i can lie and we can create a cyber world for ourselves and be what ever we wanna be..cool
i wanna be the'' cyber super trucker''...rolmfao
keep your chin up and keep,keeping on.dont let no one tell you that your not ready to drive.no one.
Most of all thank you for your total level of honesty..i am sorry they tore ya up..
It just goes to show,you can not be honest here.we must practice being a legend in are own minds.. -
Jasin you need to relax. You need too be able to take the good with the bad. Everyone does make mistakes. And alot of the guys and gals on this forum have over a million miles under their belt. They have seen alot. Take the good advice and learn from it. Try not to develop an attitude over the harsh comments. In my life experience, and not just as a trucker,I have usually found that if a person is defending their actions very actively they usually know they were at fault.
You have admitted fault for the accidents, yet the big picture is the amount of acci's in a short amount of time behind the wheel. As I stated when you first posted this thread OUCH!!!! It will be hard to get in with someone. I wish you alot of luck honestly.AfterShock Thanks this. -
Imagine that and go figure.
And quite frankly, it's an unwarranted insult to all of the posters here who ARE honestly trying to help other posters, --- wannaBees, newbees, and experienced drivers alike.
What "happened" to Jasin is that we're TRYING to get him to consider other points of view than what he seems to have from his present vantage point.
MANY of us here, myself included, wish only the best of success for Jasin, or ANYone else sincerely interested in improving.
Jasin IS receiving suggestions and advice from Big truck truckers who HAVE experienced success in the truckin' industry, and who are TRYING to convey how they brought their success to fruition.
Do YOU consider that a bad thing?
being 1PissedOffDriver.
Most of us here are NOT pissed-off-drivers.
Nor are most, if any, of us liars.
How dare you even suggest that we are?!
Actually, if we catch ANYone intentionally lying,
they're headed for the next exit.
Rather, we've found a/the way to avoid what you seem not to have found in the truckin' industry.
In a word, 'success', and, as an added bonus, we're willing to share our knowledge with others on how to find what WE'VE found, ---- all for the asking.
We even waive the normal two-cents charge.
FREE for the asking.
ALL one has to do is LISTEN with an OPEN mind to learn.
Well, Jasin, you have a choice who you prefer to listen to. 1pissedoffdriver, or successful drivers who CAN help you be successful.
Does that sound like good advice to you?
1pissedoffdriver mentioned "lie".
Do you REALLY want to hear "lies"?
You may not like the truth when it's presented to you, but you need to understand that we REALLY DO have YOUR best interest in mind.
We're NOT meainies out to get you. ALL we're trying to do is get you to see things from a different perspective. A SUCCESSFUL perspective.
NOTHING pleases me more than to read of other's successes.
It's twue!
It's twue!
On one hand you talk about lying, and now you talk about "honesty"?!
Which IS it?
News Flash!
WE HAVE been "honest"!
And we are NOT tearing Jasin up OR down.
NopE!
We are, in FACT, being honest with Jasin.
You, however, IMO, are NOT.
NopE!
Well, except maybe you needing to be a "legend" in YOUR own mind.
And again, you insult the integrity of those of us who HONESTLY want to HELP Jasin. NOT fill his head with bovine excrement and/or hot air and/or blow smoke up his buttox.
IMO, you, sir, owe us an appology for painting us in a bad light, and acusing us of things we haven't done, and don't plan on doing.
We don't come here to bash (whatever that is), or tear up those seeking advice. Rather we come here to offer time-proven, sage advice. And to even suggest we do ANYthing other than that is a dis-service to those who might believe you.
We pride ourselves in offering GOOD advice, and insist that those who do otherwise refrain from doing so. When folks come here looking for the truth, that's what we intend for them to read.
And I'm here to tell YOU, that those who take our advice are MORE likely to find the success they're lookin' for.
BTW, please explain why you're
1pissedoffdriver.
WE'RE attempting to explain why we're NOT.
BIG difference.
~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
Well, Jasin, I know you and I haven't exactly hit it off real well, and I apologize if I've somehow caused you to think or believe that I don't care about how you're feeling about the truckin' industry.
As I've stated before, I don't candy-coat things in an effort to make someone feel good.
NopE.
However, it's my opinion that IF you listen to what those of us who have encountered just what you're goin' through now, and HAVE found a way, or wayS, to get through it all, you'll experience a whole new, and more successful, outlook.
Most of us here speak from YEARS of experience. What we're hearing from you is nothing new or something many of us haven't experienced at least SOMEtime during our careers.
MANY of us know how to get through it all, and are glad to share our, probably, hundreds of years of combined experience, all totaled.
Question is, are y'all willing to listen?
Or continue to experience what'cha don't like about the truckin' industry?
When y'all wake up in the mornin', are you hearing yourself sayin' 'Oh BoY! Another DaY! It's great to be alive!"
Or
Ahhhhhh, *_ _ _ _!!
#**#%##
I'm 1pissedoffdriver" ?
For me, it was the first example.
I love my job, dare I say 'lifestyle'?
Just about every day was another adventure.
How'd I doo dat?
In a word, ATTITUDE!
And as a result of that good attitude, I landed my dream gig.
Not the ordinary drivin' gig either.
No grocery warehouses.
But, I was required to work with the Hawaiian Tropics Girls on photo shoots. And ride motorcycles, personal watercraft, snowmobiles and go-carts. I even had the opportunity to follow the Olympic Torch Run across the United States.
I saw places most Big truck truck drivers don't even know exist. The truckin' company handled the motorcycle, watercraft, snowmobile tours, special events and trade shows.
I drove a triple-digit COMPANY Big truck that was VERY well spec'd out.
What I WASN'T was 1pissedoffdriver.
Quite the contrary.
I had SUPER dispatchers who DID care for and watch out for ALL of their drivers.
I pity the fool who called MY dispatcher with an unwarrented complaint about ANY of his drivers.
They got put in there place P.D.Q.
So, the choice is your's, Jasin.
You can listen to a disenchanted, pissedoffdriver, or you can listen to those of us who HAVE been there, done that, ----
and are now writing the book on how OTHERS might do what we've done, too.
All you need to do is take notes.
Free.
I'm AfterShock, ----
And I'm back quiet.
10-4?
Color me satisfied, content and HAPPY.
panhandlepat, broncrider, zincman and 4 others Thank this. -
jasin,
with three dac hits in 4 months yer gonna find it a struggle to get hired on anywhere....but if yer still interested in driving a big truck...look into a local gig...beer, pop, food, dirt....they aint glamorous but they pay the bills...and will help you gain experiance for the otr stuff down the road when yer record has less on it...or find a small outfit looking for someone who can run and not tear stuff up....wait...scratch that last one
i , personally, do not have the best driving record around. all in a personal vehicle, not a commecial...all of them my fualt and all of them over 5 years ago
in 8 years i have yet to hurt anything in a big truck, and im everything but a supertrucker...lol
from an owners perspective, i would not hire you to drive my truck due to the prevenables.....hell i'd hafta think real hard about hiring me to drive my truck due to my MVR
but ive never had a hard time finding work due to NOT having any accidents or mishaps in a truck....hell my last employer wants me back cus i never hurt the equipment1pissedoffdriver and AfterShock Thank this. -
AFTER SHOCK I UNDERSTAND YOUR THEORY AND YOUR POINTS..I TRULY ACTUALLY SIT BACK AND READ YOUR POSTS AND I LAUGH.ITS ENTERTAINMENT FOR ME.
I EVEN ENJOY WHEN YOU TRY TO EXPRESS YOURSELF INTELLECTUALLY WITH YOUR VIEWS.I GET A KICK OUT OF IT..YOU ACTUALLY SOUND LIKE A DOCTOR ON TRUCKING.ITS AMAZING.
I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH SOME THINGS YOU SAY AND WRITE.
AS FAR AS BEING PISSED OFF,I WOULD DISAGREE WITH THAT BLANKET STATEMENT.I GUESS IF YOU REALLY NEW ME,YOUR OPINION WOULD NOT STAND..
BUT ONE FACT REMAINS TRUE WITH ALL THE INTELLECTUAL BULL #### BEING SET ASIDE.
THE TRUTH IS IF YOU READ JASONS LAST THREAD YOU WILL SEE YOUR APPROACH TO JASON HONESTY DID NOT WORK.HE WALKED AWAY MORE MESSED UP..READ HIS STATEMENT.
I don't belive so, so you can all stop with the comments now, i get it, I'm a horrible truck driver and I'm not stepping foot in another for a long time, thank you.
AND I AM SORRY BUT AT THIS MOMENT JASON DID NOT NEED ALL THE SARCASTIC,UNDERMINING,BE-LITTLING STATEMENTS ABOUT HIS BAD HORRIBLE MISTAKES.HE GETS THAT.
MY OPINION AND I MAY BE WRONG ,BUT HE NEEDED SUPPORT,UNDERSTANDING AND MOST OF ALL FORGIVENESS FOR HIS SCREW UP..HE DID NOT NEED ANYONE TELLING HIM TO GIVE UP AND THROW THE TOWEL IN.
HE WAS LEFT WITH AN IMPRESSION (HE IS A HORRIBLE DRIVER) AND HE SUCKS....
THIS IS JUST NOT BEING SUPPORTIVE IN ANY WAY.YOU ALL SENT HIM A MESSAGE HE WAS HORRIBLE AND DON'T DRIVE CAUSE YOU SUCK...
OWN IT.OWN WHAT YA DID.....
MY OPINION....
YOU SHOWED NO FORGIVENESS,NO SYMPATHY HE SCREWED HIS CAREER UP FOR A LONG TIME,YOU SHOWED NO COMPASSION FOR HIM AND MOST OF ALL YOU ONLY REASSURED HIS BELIEF HE IS A TERRIBLE TRUCK DRIVER...
NO OFFENCE AFTER SHOCK BUT YOU PISSED ME OFF AND I DON'T CARE WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE.I STILL VALUE YOUR WISDOM BUT YOU PISSED ME OFF.
ITS LET GO NOW ON MY SIDE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO LEARN FROM YOU (BELIEVE IT OR NOT) AND OTHERS ON THIS FORUM.I LEARN EVERYDAY FROM ALL OF YOU.I JUST DON'T TELL YOU THAT(LOL)DON'T WANNA GET YOUR TRUCKER EGO'S TO BIG.THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR ERROR AND ROOM FOR LEARNING.
I PREY WHEN I SCREW UP AND I WILL,I CAN GET SUPPORT FROM HERE AND NOT CRITICAL DEGRADING COMMENTS..
THIS IS NO DIFFERENT THEN THE C.B. RADIO ON THE ROAD.I GUY SCREWS UP AND EVERYONE BECOMES A CRITIC AND ABUSES THE SNOT OUT OF HIM FOR SCREWING UP...THEN TALKS FOR MILES DOWN THE ROAD HOW HORRIBLE HE OR SHE IS...
BUT HAVE YA EVER NOTICED ALL THE CRITICS POINTING THERE FINGERS NEVER ONCE GOT OUT OF THERE TRUCKS TO OFFER COMPASSION AND HELP TO THE DRIVER.I HAVE SEEN THAT PLAY OUT FOR YEARS.
WE ARE SUPPOSE TO BE A BROTHERHOOD HELPING ONE ANOTHER OUT AND LENDING A HAND TO OUR FELLOW DRIVERS.THE WAY IT USED TO BE.
I HOPE JASON FAIRS OUT WELL AND DOES NOT GIVE UP AND SOMEDAY HE CAN BE A BIG TRUCK DRIVER..AND FOLLOW HIS DREAMS.
jasin18 Thanks this. -
ThanX!
Okay, folks, ........... I've already pre-read the following post,------
And I want to thank 1podriver right up front for posting it.
Answering it might require the use of many words, and, depending on how fast y'all read, it could take awhile.
Might wanna grab a snack first.
Me?
Anything chocolate.
Ready?
Here goes --------
That's EXACTLY what I'm strivin' for.
That, and what some might learn from my entertainment.
Mission Accomplished.
Ya reckon.
What "amazing" doctor would make house-calls free of charge?
I learn from opposing views.
And I don't expect for folks to always agree with me.
HaiL!
They can even totally DISAGREE with me. I still try to respect their views/opinions.
But IMO, that shouldn't affect a cyber-friendship.
But let's back up a tad.
Whom among us in this thread has been voicing "blanket" (opinions)?
But let's not forget where we "set" it.
I think I might be gettin' Old-Timers, and my memory ain't
what it used to intellectually be.
I think that the "truth" would have to be determined by Jasin.
Let's read........ (that you selectively quoted Jasin therein).............................
I don't belive so, so you can all stop with the comments now, i get it, I'm a horrible truck driver and I'm not stepping foot in another for a long time, thank you.
YuP!
I remember readin' that post.
As I recall, it was before my last post to y'all.
That was then, ..... this is now.
Things mighta changed since then.
Perhaps we should reserve that opinion until Jasin has chimed in on the subject?
Ya reckon.
And I respectfully disagree.
This is the internet.
Here, ...... we're all just hieroglyphics on a contrasting background with a personality.
If y'all can't handle the written word(s) ----
How the HaiL are y'all gonna make in the
Big truck truckin' industry?!
StiX & Stones can break my bones,
But, ....... uhhhhh, I forgot the rest.
SOMEtimes the doubts of others make a person try harder, and, if so,
let 'em speak-up and say so.
HaiL!
Prove the nay-sayers wrong!
I'd be the first to congratulate him for doin' that.
In the Big truck truckin' industry, drivers, who are a cut above the rest in their performance, don't ding their equipment because they've LEARNED how not to.
SOME of those drivers, remember their early days of drivin', and SOME of them have been in a similar situation as Jasin. Others, myself included, have not seriously damaged any equipment. And on those rare occasions when we do ding equipment, quite frankly, we're embarrassed. Even IF it wasn't, technically, our fault.
Our fellow drivers will STILL rib each other for that, and even joke about it.
IF that driver KNOWS they're Big truck truckers, just like him, he shouldn't be offended.
HowEVER --------------
There IS a definite peckin' order in Bttruckin'.
And that SHOULD develop a desire to improve.
Bttruckers don't evaluate another Bttruck driver based solely on their experience.
NopE!
They factor in ability and performance.
And multiple dings in a short duration of time, ain't exactly a badge of honor.
Fact.
I mean, when was the last time we've heard ---
CONGRATULATIONS!
Y'all DingeD the BiG TrucK ?
But, again, I think that's Jasin's call to make.
And I stand by it, too.
"REASSURED HIS BELIEF"?
So, Jasin ALREADY "believed"?
Hmmmmmmmmm
Maybe Jasin's "belief's" ARE correct.
Are you sayin' JASIN is wrong?
How do YOU know that?
Another call for Jasin to make.
Ya reckon.
Baaadd Man ------->
Or, so I've been told.
But, would you believe that many others tell me
I'm a ------->
Which corn-fuses the HaiL outta me.
Hmmmmmmm
OH!
Better to be pissed OFF
Than ON. :smt102
Theres no room for error,
And ALWAYS room for learning.
And I ain't hit nuthin'.
I'm STILL learnin'.
I haven't read any by my definition.
Sorta like the losing pitcher after pitching a home run with the bases loaded --- and losing the game by one point?
Consistently?
Don't I hear baseball fans shoutin'
Tro Da BuM OUT! ?
Why day do dat?
And if they don't like hearin' that, they have an incentive to
IMPROVE.
Then, almost like magic --- they stop hearin' those thangs.
Ya reckon.
I have noticed that the climate has changed out there over the years, and not, IMO, necessarily for the better.
On the flip-side of the coin ----
You're pullin' a well pad-wrapped load with of slot machines valued at several million dollars, and closely monitored by the REAL Federal Marshall's, ---
I know, --- I met a real cute one in Iowa.
But, ...... I digress ........
Hijackers are a REAL possibility!
They're known to HURT, or worse, to obtain possession of a load like that.
You're the Captain of the Ship.
What's your call on stopping ANYwhere?
While constantly watchin' those rear view mirrors.
Imagine that!
I've heard that's 'cause we're gittin' old.
-
Jasin,
Unfortunately what happened to you has happened to a lot of rookie drivers. With 3 accidents in a short period of time your chances of getting a driving job are very slim. Keep doing what you are doing now for the next 3 years and then if you still want to drive a truck go to a truck driving school that will train you properly and teach you to be a good and safe driver. Whatever you decide to do I hope things work out for you.AfterShock Thanks this.
