We're plugging along as time permits. Got the cab off the other frame, transmission and driveline installed in new frame, and a bunch of plumbing done. We are squirting things black as we go as well. upload_2024-7-16_18-12-23.jpeg

The donor frame is aluminum and rust jacking consumed it. 20240715_101305.jpg 20240715_101310.jpg

This was an 89 379. I found a rolling chassis that has a steel frame and came with the block that we rebuilt. It was also an 89 379, with nearly identical wheelbase. So now we are swapping everything from the donor truck to the new one, including fuel tanks, battery boxes, etc.

And aluminum frame rails are supposed to make great outrigger boards

I noticed that too and went out to make sure it wasn't still there. I put everything away each night so usually a missing socket is apparant, but you never know.

I haven't dedided what to use them for. I'd like to make bumpers for the blue truck and the dump truck out of them, but they pjrobably won't clean up well enough. We'll definetly cut some short pieces for the boom trough blocks.

A little more progress. Lots of little things that take time, but we're gaining.

Me too! With a retarder the block mounted filter was a bugger to change.
