It is actually easier then you think and there was a video on youtube at one time. Might want to try doing a search. Other then that.. Stack your 4x4s so they line up with a stake pocket then drop one end of your chain down by the spool on one side of your pocket go under the pocket and back up the other side of the spool on the other side of the pocket and hook the chain up on top of the 4x4s about 16inches in. Kinda like making a big loop. Do the same on the other side of the trailer then put the binder in the middle on top of the 4x4s and tighten it up. Do it once and you will be like duh that was easy.. I would do the picture thing but my 4x4s are burried under my trailer. I will see if I can find the vid

like he said....if you put the binder on top of your 4x4's and look at it..it would almost be self explanatory.."How am I going to hook chains to the binder to hold the lumber down?"

I put mine at the front of the lower deck and just use a 2" strap.....but that the luxury of pulling a step-deck :)

He is just asking how to secure his 4x4 dunnage to the nose of his trailer (3+ pieces of lumber stacked on top of each other and held down with a chain)

Ok, thanks. I was trying to think how to properly make this work and this thread showed up. LOL And, I wasn't understanding the description above.

So, I guess you just stack the 4x4s and lay a chauin across the top, secure both ends, and tighten the middle with a binder (?) .

    Thanks, again.

Well, kinda....more like a hangmans noose, when securing to trailer. Just take notice when you see an empty FB with this set-up.

It's pretty easy, all you do is stack your 4x4's in line with a chain spool. Then take a chain and loop each end over the chain spools on each end of the 4x4's. Hook the chain to itself. So you should have a loop of chain going around a chain spool and over your 4x4's hooked back to itself on top of the 4x4's about a foot to two feet in from the end of the end. Then take a bungee and hook it thru the chain to pull both loops toward the middle of the trailer. (That steps not necessary, but makes things a whole lot easier) Then just hook a binder up and pull the chain tight. I find it much easier to use a rachet binder rather than a snap binder.

I like the snap binder for a bulk heads myself, when I hammer down on that wench bar I just feel it's more secure.
