And the way these drivers carry on about the Oil Co.'s....and Bush. Neither of which are making as much as the STATES....AND FEDS. In NY $.60 is added to the price of every gallon. Other states aren't far behind. The Oil Co.'s make about 8% per gallon....the states...from 15%-30%!! And are they spending it on the roads?? Been across 84 in NY lately?? And if people would do a little checking....Bush lost his ### in the oil industry before he ever got into the White House. He's not an oil man!

The Congress and Senate could drop the price of oil by $50 tomorrow if they would just announce that they were approving the building of refineries....and Nuclear plants....and allowing the oil companies to begin aggressively seeking out new oil supplies and allowing them to start drilling for the oil that we are already sitting on. But, you see.....that' not what they want to do. When the Republicans had control....they tried over and over to pass legislation to begin drilling....but, they didn't have enough votes to carry it through.....and they certainly didn't have enough to over-ride a VETO that Clinton would surely have used. I say the people of the United States need to let their Representatives know that they work for US! Not the other way around. If they won't pass legislation....they will get voted out.....watch and see how fast they pass it.

And if they did pass it...it wouldn't mean we would just stop with all the alternative energy developments that have been going on......all it would do is give us a little more time until we could get it done.

I do not support alternative energy sources. Alternative fuels such as biodiesel and propane, yes. Fuels from food crops, no. It takes more resources to produce, and discard, the alternative energy sources, such as hybrids with batteries. Think of all the hazardous materials that go into producing that battery, and when it is no longer usefull, it should be recycled, and how much energy does that take? Oil does take energy to produce and refine, however, once it is burned, it's gone. No energy wasting recycling, or possible landfill dumping. Yes, it does produce pollutants when burned, but are we not addressing that problem? The exhaust coming out of the stack of an '08 Cummins is cleaner than the air that is inhaled in LA. Maybe we could charge LA and the state of CA to clean their air?

Once our nation anounces we will open all available oil resources for production, the price of oil will fall overnight. It's a simple supply and demand situation. As long as OPEC thinks we won't produce our own resources, they will continue to control their oil spout, and the speculators will continue to drive the prices higher.

If anyone doubts the masive amounts of oil in Alaska, alone, google Gull Island and Prodhoe Bay for starters. Our government is THE PROBLEM! Drill, drill, drill!!!

Has there been any added information about regulating the FSC to insure that it goes where it is supposed to go? I found where it has been mandated in any gooberment frieght but have not found anything as far as all other frieght. I hate to have more gooberment involvement but this seems to be a good thing to stop unscupulous brokers.

Cars and Trucks are some of the oil problums but the big one is plastic.

Everything you touch from the credit cards in your pocket to the light switch in your house to the roof of your sleeper your comfortly sitting under right now has in it or is it's self plastic. Thats where the barrels of oil are going to.

As far as the price of gas and fuel, it's going to go up because of the refiner's in Europe where a lot of our finished "oil" comes from cause we won't let oil companies build to support our need.

More government...and liberal at that. Is that what were going to get?

What does a gallon of generic vegetable oil cost? I wouldn't be surprised to see it being used as an "additive" pretty soon. A diesel will burn anything flammable you can get through the injectors.

What amazes me is that 20+ years ago the tree huggers were crying about paper grocery bags, and how they were going to be the doom of our rain forest and fill up our landfills. Now, it takes oil to produce the plastic they wanted for grocery bags, and the rain forest is still being cut inorder to grow crops to make alternative fuels (that they say they want), because the world is having problems with it's oil supply! STUPID Tree Huggers, Brains are for conservatives. Yes, I'm being facetious, and seriuos.

True. But what will it do to the ingectors and fuel system over time? Not a good alternative during the winter either.

Scrap that plan... I asked my wife and she said Wally World brand of veggie oil is now $12-13 a gallon.

And yes, I know using straight veggie oil will eventually take more than a few miles of life off the motor. But desperation will drive people to do things they know they shouldn't do. If I had an old beater log truck... I'd fill her up with whatever hauled the sticks. People gotta eat.
