In my day truckers actually drove, we didn’t have time to post on the inter web and take 30 minute breaks.

Of course back then the Inter web was a top secret military and research thing, you carried a 5 lb bag of quarters and waited your turn to sit in an actual phone booth, and didn't dare talk smack to a fellow trucker without painful lessons being applied.

I blame stereotypes who sit around stereotyping everyone else and modern society that expects instant convenience and gratification, no matter the situation.

Was labelled as "non conforming" early in life and during my trucking career, more recently and politically correct as, "the unconventional type", and I wouldn't have it any other way!

You big riggers, super truckers, mega fleet rock stars and self professed outlaws carry on with the b_tch fest at the big mega truck stops, I'm going to the little Ma & Pa place across the road with the gravel parking lot where all the old road apples hang out and no driver in the place has less than a million miles under their belt and no desire to stand out in a crowd or argue or lie or complain or be the fool.

Not as much drama, better food, better conversation and a whole lot more helpful tips and information to tap into.
Learned a lot about trucking and life and how important it is to fly under the radar while remaining inconspicuous, a valuable lesson in life.

Plus, those old dudes really know how to party on the side of the road, out of sight and out of mind, sometimes for days.
Drink beer, smoke weed, interact with the locals, have a BBQ, dance, sing, meet your new wife, have a good time, then sober up and git back to gittin on down the road agin.

Their motto was, "Rules? What they don't know won't hurt you."

LOL, 40 years ago hanging out in a truckstop was a myth as far as I was concerned, never was in one longer than to eat a meal, or fill my coffee cup. lol The only time I sat long in a truckstop was to hide and sleep. lol

No, never flipped burgers, but I could if I wanted to!
Funny thing, never crashed a truck either, must be something wrong with me.

I am not trying to be rude OP. I have a direct manner.

Why would I be at all concerned about why you come to this site? What does that have to do with me?

I don't know that anyone has said anything sideways in response to one of my posts, but if they did, IDGAF. As long as the posters follow the rules, they should get to say whatever they want imo.

If I get my feelings hurt, who's problem is that exactly?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
