Cost me $100 for the one I missed in Iowa. Cop had me turn around and go back through, I was 100% legal otherwise. I just paid it, the only item on my record so it has not caused me any problems.

A dash cam could help in this type of case, if the signage really did not show it was open.

 

This is exactly why they've gone to the flashing signs. Remember when you actually had to pay attention and read the sign?

No point in crying on my end the route was marked ...bet your can I pay attention to truck route signs on towns I'm not familiar with now ...I will say we seem to be a cash cow for some of these cash strapped towns.
