Professional truck drivers are those that make their living in the profession of trucking. Because we do it for a living we should know the rules of the road and have the ability to safely operate a CMV. When a professional does unprofessional things it makes all of us look bad. I for one am unapologetic about my opinion fines for operators of CMVs should be higher. Much higher. However along with these higher fines should come better attitudes of Law Enforcement.

There is no corriculum and no profession for a truck driver. That's making me an operator of a CMV. Not more and not less.
700 to 850 a week is no surprise for a driver with a OTR carrier. If there is a HAZMAT load, they consider it as just another load without any extra pay. The driver is left with the extra risks and responsibilities. Many of the professional drivers are not aware of this. There is more to it than just putting the placards in the holder and go.
It's one more reason why I'm not taking them anymore. I haul what I get paid for DRY VAN FREIGHT.stayinback Thanks this. -

Hate to break it to you, but this IS a "profession" and by making a career or occupation in this profession, you are by definition, a professional. You may be unwilling or unable to ACT like one, but that is another topic for another day.MidWest_MacDaddy, Lepton1, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this. -
We don't have prepass and I don't get delayed more than a few minutes at the most. See when oversized you have to pull in anyhow, prepass or not. It's not a big deal if you have your #### together. And when you get that inspection sticker they leave you alone for a while.
-
That hasn't been my experience. I was inspected once (after going 10 years without) and received those stickers on the truck & trailer. Over the next 3 months, I was inspected 4 more times. Peeled the stupid stickers off and haven't been inspected again since.TequilaSunrise, Ryan423, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this.

lol...

At some time in the past those stickers had a purpose. Today DOT officers have quotas to meet and they have to inspect some companies anyway regardless of the sticker. Some people don't understand that when a companies inspection failures get to a certain percentage prepass gets turned off and all the trucks running those DOT numbers have huge targets on them. It is just how it is today.
-
Well I have PrePass and I usually don't get delayed those few minutes. And I have my stuff together...whatever that was supposed to imply.

Yeah op we hear ya, that's steep fine
" However "
Did you say you were pulling a hazmat tanker? Or should we say
