This is why I voted for Hogan. He was supposed to reverse a lot of the O'Malley era crap.....what a wasted vote!!!

Spent a good part of my 31 years going into NYC and the Boros. 17 of them bringing hundreds of trailers from NJ into NYC doing the trade shows at the Jacob Javitz, West side highway piers , Hilton hotel etc. they enforce the 53’ trailer now and then, and it wasn’t uncommon for some of our trucks to get tickets . They would set up on Amsterdam ave just before 178th st and stop and measure you. Even though you were delivering to the city for a show and have paperwork to show it. They didn’t care , they were there to give tickets. Usually They were fat arrogant and dumb woman usually , who enjoyed running their mouth and telling you “ You should know the laws of NYC” classic examples of why you should not let just anyone become a cop , just because they want to. I actually gave one $20 back in the early 90’s when they had the brownies ( brown uniformed parking cops) to not give me a ticket when I made a left turn on Park ave delivering
Liquor to a store. He took it and didn’t give me a ticket . Some of them were arrested back then for shaking people down to not give them a ticket. I’m sure that little red eyed high as a kite fool was one of them.lol!

Understood. Problem isn't Hogan though. The problem is Marxists have gerrymandered the State so bad and they have taken over every conceivable position in politics that there's just no going against them no matter who the Governor is unfortunately.

You mentioned Flatbush, and I got a rash thinking about the Brooklyn terminal market. It wasn't too bad going in at 2am, but coming out at 7am made me realize why so many pedestrians get hit there.

Surprising how many states allow only 48' with no KPFA waiver for 53' but don't enforce it. I wish they would. I am not a big fan of 53' trailers. If I went back to pulling a box or reefer, I'd be inclined to get a 48' spread axle.

AFAIK any truck over 55ft long or 8ft wide needs a permit for NYC, The permit usually allows movement between 10 pm and 5am. Is it enforced? .. not usually.

There was a thing called a NYC tax stamp too. I got stopped by a NYC cop (back in the 90's) who told me he had me for 5 tickets 1.Off truck route, 2. Over length. 3 over length on that street . 4. Making an illegal left( traffic was backed up for hours due to an accident in the tunnel,I was just trying to get out of the city). 5. No NYC tax stamp. There is (or was) a law that if you did any business in the city ,your truck had to have a NYC tax stamp, never heard of it before. He let me go on the moving violations, but did give me the no NYC tax stamp ticket. I had to go to court for it too. The company I worked for paid the ticket.
