It was, by a very long way, the most reliable truck I have ever owned in a couple of decades.
As far as the manual vs auto deal, why not? If they made them as reliable as a manual, I'd be all over one. Do I need "practice" shifting a 13, 18, or whatever? Not me, been doing it long enough.
Hauling up to 117k lbs, I'd get one if they did the same job as my current manual does, and possibly save some wear and tear. I doubt anyone here can shift as good as a computer. Proficiency? In abundance. As good as a computer? doubtful to me.
Not sure how they would do at my normal weights, but if and when they figure it out and make it reliable, I'd be getting one. Hell just the space saved on the floor would be worth it!

I hear Mercedes engines getting slammed here often though, and 99% by either fleet drivers who's shops have screwed them up, or by the Google genius'. Like I said, my old Mercedes truck was about as reliable as you can get, on roads that make the ones over here look like glass for the most part! lol
