We picked up a new 5700 xe DD15 with Dt12 trans 2 months ago. When it arrived I was impressed by the interior wood cabinets, exterior look and the everyhing in the cab was an upgrade compared to the freightliners Cascadia that we normally get. We mostly run western states
now the downside -after putting on first 20,000 miles we have ice accumulating on inside the jockey box, ice on the inside of the side windows, ice forming on the excape hatch on the inside of the cab, leaks from mulitple areas. I have had more problems in the first month with this 5700 then all of the my previous 20 DD15 Cascadias. I think that Daimler needs to look at their product testing before they start shipping these trucks to their customers. I bought the truck since it had a detroit powertrain but had a nicer upgraded interior compared to our Freightliners. Unfortunately the fit and finish has been subpar and I would recommend that people should just take a wait a bit and see approach to these truck and not make the same mistake that I did and buy a truck in the first year of production.mhyn Thanks this. -
The sleeper is the same one made for the last 17 years on every model Star. The hood and fairings are the only differences on the 5700, cab and sleeper are the same.

The truck sucks. Leaks everywhere. What a waste of money.
