A $50 ohm meter works just as well..Im sure there are aa30 around somewhere but still a 35 is only a small upgrade..

    Mr Breedlove died

30 series used is crapshoot. Giga Parts comments on Amazon & EBay sellers looks bad.

    Already have several cheap multimeters.

    Ohhhh didnt know he passed...
Only advantage of a 35 over a 30 is collred screen and the ability to tune ant via sound through an fm broadcast(i think thats how the zoom feature works)

I just did a real quick look for an aa30 when i posted that..
    I got the aa55 zoom and a mfj259b..

Ran into one of our drivers with a Predator on the cab-back (only type I’ve seen on our trucks). Said it whacked a few branches but otherwise good.

    With about 1000-miles driven east of IH35 I’d say it’s a 2-3 mile setup.

Am heading out west to Albuquerque today. But doubt there’ll be anything to hear on a holiday weekend.

Yup. Stuck with it for now.

OTOH, I was able to get onto frontage road yesterday two miles from Interstate wreck. Glad to have radio, would have preferred farther out.
The radio rig sits at home awaiting final assemblage. And still haven’t looked where to tap power. Maybe on this long trip (FTW to ALBU to Alabama).
