Get ready to buy a set of injectors as well, the spay patterns are not backwards compatible, while you can use the acert injectors on the old pistons the old injectors don't work well the the new style pistons.
Most look to the acert rotating assembly because it will be more reliable at higher power levels because of the steel pistons, when IPD gets their butts in gear in the states they have a steel replacement for the standard E/C15 piston.

i was going to do new injectors to match as well.

I think if I am understanding SmokinCAT is the spray pattern doesn't match the bowl cut In the 7172 pistons. But it is minimal. Those Ipd steel pistons I have been waiting on for over two years. There I'd only one way to get them but it takes a third party to do it. Plus you loose the extra stroke and strength of the acert assembly.prerunner404 Thanks this.

The US release happened quietly a little while back, the part number now exist as something to order in the states, but I am sure the wait time will be immense.

What kind of fuel average were you seeing with 800+ horsepower set up? How was the clutch handeling all that power?
-
I'm at about that hp and my truck has never seen the mpg that is getting now, I'm at 8 even on a dump truck one way empty, clutch is been holding just fine, i don't ever go in construction site, on pavement all the time flat ground 100% of the time, I'm in South Florida.

Think I finally got all my parts in. Just got the block back yesterday and was waiting on cat to get my front gears in and they arrived today so it's build time. I'll be working most of the night on this and don't know if I'll get much posted but I'll try to remember to snap some pics to post in a day or so. I'd like to have this in the truck and running by Monday but I have a wedding to go to tomorrow so we'll see.
prerunner404 Thanks this. -
Looking forward to this

Just don't rush it!tsavory and prerunner404 Thank this.

I can't afford to rush it. Planned on working way later but I'm done. Last time I overhauled it and put a new front gasket on I worked 22 hours without stopping. The next day I pulled the front structure back off to fix mistakes I made the day before. Don't remember what I did wrong but I do remember pulling it back apart. Not doing that again.
tsavory and prerunner404 Thank this.
