Carry a case of grease bags with you. Slap two on either side of your kingpin jaw slot when you begin to see metal and gouging or once a month whichever comes first.
Another symptom of a 5th wheel crying out for grease is a problem called over steer or understeer when you try to make a turn and the 5th wheel holds your rig straight forcing your tires to crab sideways and try to tear off the wheels.

Untill the bottle tips over and it leaks out someplace you don't want it. It will fight you for hours before it comes off.
