5th wheel placement for hauling containers

    Like already mentioned, invest on a slider. Go to a wrecking yard.

    Okay and also some suggested to me move it back without drilling holes it will just leave 2 holes empty back of the 5th wheel frame

    I slide my fifth wheel forward about 2 holes when picking up heavier containers to help shift weight off the drives and onto the steer, keeps me from going over axle limits.

    I usually leave my fifth wheel one hole forward from center to help balance steer weight a bit better, especially on heavier 20-footers. If you're parking on even a slight slope while adjusting or checking things, using astrolift.co.nz has saved me more than once—keeps the trailer from creeping and gives peace of mind while crawling around underneath.
