I have stationary 5th wheel now and just bought a used one that is an air slider. I just noticed they slider is taller. mine is 44'' and the new one appears to be 2 inches taller.
I haul dry van only and starting with a new company one of the questions they asked was how tall is my 5th wheel.
Is this a problem ?? I know I can lower my chassis by dumping the air so I figure I can get under about anything but is this a problem in total height?
Also I am running Low pros for tires.

    Thanks,

Measure it. 48” or less should be acceptable by everyone. Anything higher, need to measure Trailer hooked up for sure. I’m guessing it’ll be 47” or less.

I appreciate your reply. I wasn't asking if companies ask what the height of your 5th wheel I was asking if have one at 46'' is a problem and if so why. I might assume that it will make the trailer taller. Not really sure it would cause any problems picking up trailer as I can dump my suspension but not sure.

Center of gravity. You can't drive with it like a low rider. Mine is 46" with a dry van.

When you say measure trailer hooked up, do you mean hook up trailer and measure from trailer plate to ground?

I didn't mean drive it with the suspension dumped, I'm talking about getting under it initially. From what your saying and what someone else posted it appears that if it's at 27" or lower it should be fine. Right?

As others have said 46-47" should be an acceptable height for pulling vans.

You understand they are worried about the height of the trailer. 13'6" is the general rule. Yes a taller fifth wheel will raise the height of the trailer

I’ve seen several heavy haul trucks that couldn’t pull a van without being over height.
