6 way plug problem on goose neck

I was thinking same thing. If you take a test light or voltmeter and check the two black wires with the truck ignition on, the one that's not hot is likely the brake wire. Then test that one (the one that wasn't hot) while somebody presses the brake lever on the truck or brake control. It should incrementally apply more voltage (test light will get brighter) as they mve the lever.

Since you have no brakes, the presumption is that you don't get anything.

If this is a newer truck with an integrated brake controller, you need to check the fuse. The owners manual should tell you which fuse it is.

Looks like you're finding more issues. I never liked the way most goosenecks have their brake wiring configured, cheesy at best, crappy non-weatherproof connectors, too small a gauge wiring, always prone to failure....

 

If your brakes are locked on now you've got a wire in the wrong spot on the plug. I've had that happen with a different pickup that must have been wired different.

 

You need to zip tie all the brake wires up or you will have broken wires every time you ck. to see why brakes are not working?
