I think you’re focusing on the lease purchase which is what the lawsuit is about. But the main problem is that Super Ego doesn’t have operating authority, they have who knows how many different companies set up, all with their own authority, running under their umbrella. When one authority gets destroyed from violations that company “closes” and all those trucks just get new lettering and business goes on with another name on the truck.

Hmmmm.....the irony. You say you want everyone to follow the law........yet your avatar depicts someone who doesn't......just saying.........needle mover much? In any event, like I said earlier, if these guys were American born, 60 Minutes would have never done that segment. They're so late to the part it's crazy.

Can’t help, but LMBO… Just face it there are certain people in society that don’t believe following laws and accountability should be happening… But those people that don’t like accountability are the ones who are going around breaking the rules constantly and feel that they’re entitled

People should be held accountable. No disagreement there. Yet some folks do believe that they are entitled to not only break laws, but do immoral ####, simply because of their societal status or whatever the motive. I don't believe that one group should be held accountable and another shouldn't be because a few views are in alignment with a good chunk of the society. It's the way of the way of the world though. Some people will sail right on through whatever violations and others will get caught. I've just come to accept that it will always be an imbalance. Years will pass and I sense that Super Ego will still be business, or they will come back as someone else. Instead of focusing on shutting down folks first, they need to go to the root of the problem....change legislation. Its too easy to get authority.

Regardless of “yeah but other people are criminals too” it’s foolish to believe that companies like this don’t affect the entire industry. Look at the pile ups the last few years. What do you think that does to the insurance rates of those who actually have insurance and are running legally?
Towing company from Columbus NE went out last week and picked a foreigner up out of the ditch. DOT number was in the 4 millions. Had an insurance card in the permit book but when they contacted the insurance company they said that truck and trailer wasn’t on their policy and they also had no cargo insurance. So you have a company that went and cleaned everything up just to end up getting stiffed on the bill and now have to dispose of a totaled truck and trailer.
I don’t know what the answer is but maybe revoking any authority granted since 2021 would be a good start. Up the cost to file for new authority when the reapply and go from there. And we should be like Canada and the government should certify ELD’s. That would get rid of the ones with overseas tech support. Holding shippers and receivers responsible for the actions of the carriers they hire would also make things better.TheLoadOut, gentleroger, wore out and 1 other person Thank this. -
Challenge accepted

The inspector in the video has the answer in my opinion. They'll have to go through the front door, or however he worded it on this issue. Basically, they will have to get ahead of these folks who want to get authority. They make it so easy to do so. They'll have to make it much more difficult to get authority or you'll have millions more companies in the database like now. If change is really whats desired, then qualifications must be a little more difficult. Sometimes I feel like band aids are put on certain issues to appease a base. I can't figure out if they really want change within the industry, or just and adjustment to the optics of having foreigners within the industry.

And until the root of the problem is addressed, they will be 100 different names. Otherwise, this is empty calorie discussion.
