So you guys are saying that a fuel temp wire will help performance on a 12.7 detroit? I have my codes all set up to 75 and want some more pulling power. So is this just a 100ohm CAT temp wire? Also does anyone know what a 12.7 500 horse ecm will do? I have heard no gains in power. Thank you

What is a .75 injector code?So what do you think you are accomplishing if the injector code was a 80 or 95 by your theory you would be cutting them back.
-
I do not know I am not a mechanic. The injector codes were set when I bought my truck and I have never changed them.
-
I guess some could be set that high from the factory. All I have ever seen are factory setings in the .0s to low .2s.

The injector code changing dosen't seem to have the same effect the Cat guys are saying they get.I've tried all this stuff on the dyno and on hills on both 12.7 and 14ltr. no gain.My last experiment was a few months ago between Albequerque NM. and Vegas on a 12.7 at 79,000lbs both directions...nothing.

Try it on an 11.1 and I guanantee you will see a change. I couldn't tell much, if any change on my 12.7 either. It may have been because the 12.7 was set at 1550 ft lb torque instead of the more common 1450.

See my motor was setup that way when I bought the truck a few years ago, that is why I do not know anything on the subject. I have heard people that swear by the injector codes being turned up and people that argue against it. My opinion is unbiased since I have only ran my motor with one injector setting.

To avoid confusion on this process, I will be posting a series of pics in the not-to-distant future as I make this modification to my own truck!
