So been running with guy who has one just thought I'd share my findings.

    Exterior:
Very nice, I like headlights and body lines better. Has higher 13 foot roof, all else is basically same.

    Apu:
Tri pack evolution which sounds louder and seems to run rough.

    Interior:
Wow its amazing towards ours in the 660, so much room and can stand in all of the truck and no dip between front and back and no turning sideways to get in back. Built in fridge, TV wall mount, microwave shelf with bar. More storage but has cloth seats. Better switches and bells and whistles for computer and does a self lamp test and will tell you which bulb is bad. More over head storage in drivers compartment. Bed looks bigger. He has enough room for a fold up table, made me biscuits and gravy one moning. Light color interior with led lights so it's not dark a day dreary like the 660. And wider. sure more but I can't remember.

    Engine:
Has a paccar not Cummings. We are load and weigh equally but I out pulled him on every hill with out dropping a gear and him not.

I'm sure more but that's off the top of my head.

Sounds really nice, seems to me that Kenworth's plan is to discontinue the 660, and then the only "aero" options will be the 680 and the 880. It would be nice seeing a midroof 680 for Melton!

Midroof 680's are only available with tiny sleepers according to KW website. Sleepers the size of the flat-top pete's with the tiny sleeper.

personally, I hate the look of the 680's for a flatbed outfit. Look good pulling a van, but they just don't look right for us.

In my opinion, mid roof looks the best pulling flats.

    If I had a choice between my 660 and a 680 it'd be a tough call. put a fridge in my truck and I wouldn't consider a 680!

I'll agree with that logic, but if they do discontinue the 660, don't foresee Melton straying from Kenworth! Although, I will say that the few Cascadia's and Volvo's they have look pretty good!

I saw the Volvo's in tulsa a few months back. I heard they werec for testing only and that Melton wasn't planning on buying any more.

I drove a couple 2011-2012 Volvo's at my last company, they were pretty comfortable! I probably would trade my 660 for a volvo.

It would be interesting to know what Melton would purchase if the 660 does go away. Hopefully will get to drive my own 660 for Melton in the next few months!

The 680 rides like heaven as well. Nice overall trucks, but I agree with the "flatbed look" aspect.

I just did a little bit of looking at KW dealers online and I can't seem to find a 2015 t660. I didn't look too terribly hard, but I'm guessing they are discontinued. I could be wrong. All the other manufacturers have their 2015's out already.

EDIT: I just looked again and found a bunch of 2015 660's. Oops.

I heard 2016 was going to be the last year for the 660. Maybe Kenworth will come out with a 72" midroof for the 680's, 52" would be a bit cramped!

    Battle Born Thanks this.

The seats in the 680 can turn to face backwards, if I remember right from the one I saw in Tulsa a while back, as well. Great for when you don't want to lay down to watch TV or whatever.
