Already on the Freightliners the past 3 model years. The electric motor is used for lane keep assist and acts as an electric assist to the power steering. It would be nothing to add that functionality with the yaw rate sensor and wheel speed sensors.

I was on a JJ Keller webinar about 2 weeks ago and they are saying most trucks will be limited to 65 mph, but trucks with automatic braking and collision avoidance systems will be allowed to 70 mph.

Or just parts become unavailable, I sold my trucks and now work for a major forklift company. Many older lifts are are impossible to find parts for. Aftermarket or otherwise. The mfg will not sell new diesels in US market now. The LP and dual fuel have stamped useful life is 7 years or 7,000 hours. Emissions are the reason. They have them choked with 3 O2 sensors and all the garbage the cars have. Some parts for lifts as new as 6 years old are hard to get or mfg will not support. EPA is running the show
LP trucks were hard to get because of emissions. It is getting stupid. I believe like you said Between EPA and insurance and parts availability the old trucks will be relegated to museums and or very limited use.JoeyJunk, drvrtech77 and Oxbow Thank this. -
I thought I read somewhere that in Canuckistan they plug something into the port under the dash to see what your speed is set at.JoeyJunk, blairandgretchen, Last Call and 1 other person Thank this.

ya, they used to . But someone took them to court and I’m not sure what happened
I have a spare switch on the dash that cuts the ground to the data port so it can’t be read. It will power up on the lap top but then says something along the lines of can’t communicate…..
with switch on it works normally…..
