When you boys say your fan kicks on before the set in stone temp all cat ecm's have it isn't coolant temp that is doing it. It is more than likely the air intake temp that is causing the fan to kick on sooner.

True.
Intake air temp will turn the fan on also.
As far as water temp goes tho it is 217.
Some of the older low nox files in the 40 pin ecm engines ( 5ek,6ts and 1lw ) had fan on temp at 205 .Oxbow Thanks this. -
What I’m getting at is, let the shop heat cycle the engine to make sure the fan comes on, then once you know it’s good, see what the gage says the next time the fan turns on.
Hope that helps -
103 C for coolant temp to cut fan in 73 C inlet air temp to cut fan in or A/Con high pressure switch will also cut fan in on the Cats.
quite often the "truck" gauges are reading different to the ECM sensor -
I got the fan working, they had to change some things around in the datalink between the cab and ecm (08 truck). Don't know if it kicks on with the AC high temp because my ac is currently disconnected, but the fan kicks on around 215°f and back off around 95°f
