Thanks guys, not sure what I am doing wrong here. This is a link to the page after I put in my zip (66219). It lists all the available mileage rates in my area. I'm getting the same rate for Van-national, Van-Home Time Plus, and Flatbed-National. The only one that is showing as less is Van-Midwest Regional. I'm sure I'm just missing something on the two cents more for flatbed.

Regardless, I am likely going to put in my app here within the next few days and talk to a recruiter, I'm just still getting my questions ready.

If you're interested in the 7/4 7/3 fleet, you may as well stop asking about flatbed, it's irrelevant. that flatbed fleet isn't available in your zip.

It's possible that their website isn't up-to-date, regarding flatbed pay.
Someone else mentioned they're in the 7/4 7/3 Flatbed, and get .32. That's the same thing as me.

I don't know enough to tell you, if it's because of flatbed, because of 7/4 7/3, or because of home area. the other guys have actually been through orientation, so I'd belive them over the website.

But, regardless, With Roehl, you'd have to choose between a 7-on X-off van fleet, or flatbed. cause you're area doesn't have both. (Which.. I *think* means the Dayton yard, not positive.)

Gotcha...so with Home time plus, my options would be Van-national at .32 or Van-Midwest Region at .30. Anyone know if Roehl goes heavy into NYC, I hear that can be a nightmare...especially for a Kansas boy like me.

Their standard answer is "Less that 1% NYC"

But, just cause they say it, don't make it so. :)

    I heard that...

I've been researching enough to know trucking companies have a way of making things seem a bit better than they really are during the recruitment and training process.

However, Roehl sure seems like the least worst option as far as a training company goes. Tuition is only 2400 and would be reimbursed within about 12-18 months or so...plus the home time plus plan seems like it might make the lifestyle change a little less 'shock and awe' for a pup like myself.
