LOL - yah, I can understand that. You obviously got yerself a heck of a wimmin. I'd rather stay home too, in such a situation.
Actually, all things considered, I'd rather stay home, period. 34s on the road, though.. I miss my dog. -
Well, you went with the wrong outfit then,,,,
5 weeks out that is 5 restarts unless you add 8th day gain... LOL

uhhh-uhhhhhhhh!! usually i get to run my normal days but greedy me told'em i wanted a long weekend run so i wouldn't have to deal with night/weekend dispatch. i will have almost 4000 miles come monday though. only good thing about it.
think i'll tell my FM monday after i deliver not to put me on the board till tue am!!!!!!

Why not just take off a 6pm so at midnite you can keep driving?

How on earth can you get anywhere near 4000 miles/week, especially without doing a reset? I tried getting my dispatcher to let me do a reset, but I just had to pick up some load that could've waited another 3 days to get picked up. Now, they're a little upset I don't have the hours to pick up and deliver these loads and seem to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Anyways, I like the 34 hour reset. After 6 days of hard running, I get to actually take a whole day off. I must say, I'm quite exhausted right now and could really use a day I could relax, but I don't see that any time in the future.

I feel your pain, the 70 hour rule can be a big problem, just finished a run from LA to Denver, where I had 4 hours, and then 5 hours to drive, and then picked up 13 at midnight, and drove all night to make the 6 am appointment. I was 1 1/2 hours late for the delivery, but I learned.
I used all those hours for driving, did my fueling at the end of the day...and this load was so heavy, I could only run 1/2 tank of fuel as I crossed each scale. -
But I don't think that's the case here. If he's only picking up 6.5 hours, he wasn't running hard for 6 days, he was just running hard for the weekend so he wouldn't have to deal with the weekend dispatch. I took it as him not actually wanting to work those long days, because he doesn't like doing resets. If 4000 a week is normal without doing resets, then that's excellent. That's a 57MPH average for a full 70 hours, not deducting the pre-trip, post-trip, fueling, loading, etc.

Seems like a 34 would've been the wiser choise and actually given you more hours you could drive. If you drove a total of 9/48 hours in 2 days (4+5=9, yes), you had 39 hours you sat, and you could've combined the 5 and 4 hour days to make a more productive week to come. Plus, you wouldn't have had to wait around until midnight to pick up the 13 to drive, and likely would've made the appointment. By the way, you did deduct the hours you fueled from your available hours the next day, right?
