As long as you don't drive to another city, you're fine. Driving within city limits doesn't even have to be logged. If I deliver and pickup in the same city, they're not paying me any deadhead miles even if the loads are 30 miles apart. I'm sure as hell not logging any driving time if I'm not getting paid for it.

The responsibility will always fall on the driver to have their logs in order.

No customer, or anyone else has responsibility.

If you put yourself in a situation where you cannot finish a break legally, it's on you.

Fair? no, but the way it is.

Unless you get in an accident, then you won't be "fine" at all.

Even if it's the other persons fault - they will nail you.

    Whatever you think.

If you ask it in the right way, without derogatory comment and use the word DOT or police, I might answer.

Otherwise, I don't consider it a serious question, but an immature comment.

I think most of us have outgrown that particular comment.

I don't know the exact sections but I believe that there are exemptions to the rules when you are acting under the direction of a Law Enforcement Officer.

if you have the pigs wake you up--you should be sleeping in the truck and not the barn--or is it that you have pigs in your sleeper?
