As long as you don't drive to another city, you're fine. Driving within city limits doesn't even have to be logged. If I deliver and pickup in the same city, they're not paying me any deadhead miles even if the loads are 30 miles apart. I'm sure as hell not logging any driving time if I'm not getting paid for it.

I think most of us have outgrown that particular comment.
I don't know the exact sections but I believe that there are exemptions to the rules when you are acting under the direction of a Law Enforcement Officer.
