Wrong, rookie. You don't get a reset anytime you have 34 consecutive hours off. If you start a reset on a Monday at 1900 you can not have another reset until Monday at 1700 of the next week. Also a reset must have two periods between 1am-5am.

Wrong rookie. You should really learn about the reset and how it works before you act like you know what you're talking about.

I am a rookie. And I appreciate the respectfulness of those that were first to prove me wrong.

34 hours off duty which includes 2 nights fron 1am to 5am AND is 168 hours since your last reset will reset your 70 hour clock to 0 used hours. Since you work 4 days, your second time off you will not be eligible to reset since its not 168 hours (7days) since the last time you had off.

    To clarify...

You always need to worry about 4 clocks.

14...once you start your day (on duty or driving) this clock can not be stopped (aside from split logging, but don't worry about that) After 14 hours is up the truck must be stopped. You can continue to be on duty, you just cant drive.

11...with in the above 14 hours you can drive up to 11 hours. Even if you hav time on your 14 left, if you drive 11 hours you must stop. You can start and stop this clock as much as you want. But, if you drive over 11 hours or run out on your 14, you must stop (whichever one runs out first)

8...Similar to the 14. starts at beginning of day and can not be stopped unless you take a 30 min break. one 8 hours is up, you must stop driving and go off duty or sleeper b4 driving any more for 30 min

70....you cant be onduty or driving (add both together) more then 70 hours in 8 days. On the 9th day you will get back te hours you used on the first day. this is called recap. This clock's used hours can be reset to 0 with a 34 hour reset

During the day you must monitor all 4 clocks and stop when ever any run out of time.

    Breaks

10 hour break....resets both the 8, 11 and 14 hour clocks to 0 giving you a full set of hours to work with.

30 min breck,....reset the 8 hour clock (note 14 keeps ticking.)

34 hour reset....resets 70 hour clock to 0 use hours int he last 8 days. For it to count, it must be 7 days since you last used a 34 hour reset AND include 2 night between 1 and 5 am. This resets all 4 clocks.

Try telling that to a DOT officer.:Police car: it does not matter when you were in schoola nd when you drove. You are responsible for knowing UP TO DATE federal and state regulation for the states you travel in. Do you live in a box? How did you not hear about the changes this past summer. It was all over the news.

:druid:That is what dot officers look like
