Tear out the last several pages of your log book and rewrite them to make it legal, oh yeah, don't forget to leave yourself a few hours.... just in case!!!)

(sorry, flashback to the old days!)

The best thing to do if you are in violation is to pull on the scales set your brakes (safety first you know ) Pull out your .45 and put a round through your brain !!!
This is the only way to assure that you will not violate the hours of service in the future !!!!!

Other than just shut down till you get hours back and keep on trailer trucking !

They caught me a few times riding dirty. If you ever pass by the limon scale and you see empty trailers. Yeah he was shut down and allowed to go to the truck stop. I also had to relay a load from one of our other drivers who was shut down at the scale. I actually always stayed with the trailer. Just because I hate back tracking.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who was thinking this way...oh the beauty of loose leaf paper log books. Truth be told though I showed 12 hours driving 1 day last week...did I get caught nope I ripped that page out and made it look legal again. I like ot think of myself as a magician. For my next amazing trick i will make my log book LEGAL AGAIN!!!!:yes2557:

LOL! Have a good friend that is a bull hauler and he works for 2 brothers each with their own company and DOT# AND different logs. This is REALLY magic! Running up an your 70? No problem, change out the company name and DOT# on the truck(quick release butterfly latches) Change the trailer name on front... pull out the other paperwork with the other lease info, replace with the other company... put the stuff in the lock box... fill out the different companies log and you now have 70 hrs again... just like magic.

    The joys of bull hauling

It might depend on 'how much over' the driver went.
If you go 10 hours over you are probably hosed.

But if you are several minutes over because you needed to find somewhere safe to park, all it takes is a note on the log that that's what happened.
Then you take your break until such time as you have hours coming in.

Bear in mind that this type of thing can not happen on a weekly basis, or even monthly.
Once in a great while, and you'll get away with it. But too many times will simply be a red flag that you can't control your time.

Dunno, but the trooper they call to chase you down the freeway would love to.
