The cops show up. You get DOT'ed, drug tested, cell phone raided, body cavity searched, laptop raided, sleep studied...heck, the even check between your toes for signs of demon possession. "He was listening to 'Breakin the Law' by Judas Priest. He's satanic. It's evidence. He has a marker light out on his first trailer."

The media show up and take pictures of your truck. They reach out to all the bleeding hearts by saying how tragic this accident was since...(sniffle)...this young man, loved and respected by everyone who knows him...(I am getting choked up here)...

Some cruddy lawyer contact Imbecil's parents and talks to them about lawsuit. "I mean, that Evil Truckdriver, with the marker light out and listening to satanic lyrics stole your little boy, your baby, away from you forever.

Sure, he had run ins with the law, punched his teacher out,5 speeding tickets, 1 reckless, assault on girlfriends, drug possession, fish tackle and tattoos on his face, riding down the interstate on one wheel...was an absolute angle that would do anything for anybody and would give the shirt off his back.
And you, faithful husband, father of 2, perfect driving record, no criminal record...are a low down angel killin, road hogging, gear jamming, pill poppin, critter-smashing, sister deflowering, Satan worshippin trucker.

You have to log the inspection and not as a break.

This is also ignorant.. if it was about safety they would do it 365 days a year.... It is about being seen by the traveling public.. My truck is in tip top shape today and is pretty close to that all the time.. but what happens in 3 weeks...... You know when guys know they can get away with it.. If it is safety it needs to be done all the time.. If it is a show of force it is not worth the time they are taking to do it....

They need to do away with csa 2010 at least the points aspect of it so drivers aren't in constant fear of being written a petty violation like a light.. lights go out all the time.. Had one go out last night.. was working one minute made a right turn 10 minutes later and it is out... I am 50 miles from any place to get another light... Yeah i know carry a spare.. I have spares for all of our trailers except the older ones that have round amber instead of oblong..

Just about anything the government gets involved in is just a horrible failure.. CSA is one of them.

And yeah I believe they need to have roadcheck... everyday.. not just for 72 hours.

 

Usually it wouldn't be an issue if you noted the light was working on your DVIR.

 

If you noted that the light was working on your DVIR, you usually won't have an issue. However, you will if you noted the light wasn't working, or you didn't have a DVIR for that particular day.
