I understand the idea, but I would still get it reduced. Small price to pay, I got one about 14 yrs ago, 71/55. Went to Court, no deal,So I figured, I’d just take the ticket, hadn’t had one in years. After that, a few more, small 5 and 10 overs. I should have appealed with an Attorny, came close to losing my License, I had a couple Friends, same thing. We agreed that Municipalities and State were all short on cash, due to bad economy. As some of the tickets were really close calls. Either way, I had forgotten my own Golden Rule, That is, Dont get the first Ticket. When they pull you over, and see you already have a ticket. First thing that crosses their mind is, You haven’t learned your lesson.Even though it may show a reduction, that still shows You fought it, and creates some doubt. I haven’t had one in 11 yrs. Often run 65 in 70. Although everyone’s running 85. It’s easy to be going 85/70 in a car, look around, almost everyone is. But it’s something a Truck Driver can’t afford to do. Either way, be very careful from now on. Don’t think it was just bad luck, or you’ll end up with more tickets, and Cops won’t give you a break, based on your record. $1000 is worth getting it reduced. Even more, IMO, to keep the points off your record.

Depending on where you live, check out
Van Wyk Inc.
They are a small reefer company out of NW Iowa, they treated me right for many years, and I made great money there. If I get back on the road I’ll likely get back with them. -

If Prime is going to take you, why even worry about getting it reduced? You've got a clear path to getting your foot in the door. Prime is a very capable company. Follow Chinatown's advice and double check. If they are a go, make it happen dude!!!! 3 years from now it wont matter. Companies wont even pay attention to that ticket.

Glad you found opportunity and the folks on here weren’t too bashful. I got a 71/55 in a big truck going on 3 years ago, did not lose my job but I work for a smallish fleet and that probably helped. I chose not to fight mine but I wish I would have. It’s not the end of the world as some like to portray, but I imagine it will still cause me some grief down the line even being a few years old. Working for Prime should definitely help you prevent speeding tickets unless you’re down hill with a tail wind lol
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
