burn the brakes to stay at 62? if you dont know how NOT to burn up your brakes, then you dont need to be on the road anyway.

I drive 72 in 70 MPH States all the time... my company says. 72mph Good! and going down hill.... Well we won't go there. I have been up to 100, but it was in a place where there were no other cars or Trucks, and it was a straight run. Not smart, but fun. Probably will never do it again, but I raced cars as a teen also. Don't now. Oh well getting old sucks!

You're supposed to choose a gear that will get you safely to the bottom without having to be on your brake all the time. I tend to go down a hill in whatever gear is necessary for my jake to hold me, with maybe a brush of the foot brake no more often that 60 seconds. If I have to touch the foot brake more often, I'm going too fast and will drop a gear. If that means I'm going down the north side of the Siskyous at 25mph, well, I'll put my flashers on and stay to the right. It's my job to control this vehicle at all times.

100% correct... but dropping a gear while all ready going down the grade can be tough... we should all ready know what gear to be in. of coarse that can't always be known.
