I suggest that you call the terminal that you would be based out of, and talk to the orientation coordinator. Last I heard, most newbies are automatically placed on the "family plan" when orientation is done. I was never placed on the family plan, but it was rolled out literally the week after I was done with orientation. At our terminal, drivers were allowed to take as much time off as they wanted as long as they drove a certain number of miles each month. I cannot remember whan the mileage goal was. I do recall that it could be reached by working 3 weeks or less per month.
If anyone else has more recent information about the family plan, please chime in and help Sal out!!
My personal opinion about the family plan is that it is a great option for those who want to spend extended periods of time at home. The downside is that you never know what kind of truck you will get when you go back to work. Will it be a newer Cascadia, or an '06 Columbia with 450,00 miles on it? Ya just never know!sal Thanks this. -
Roehl does no hiring out of Ca. (called yesterday)
The Swift recruiter I talked with was out of Lathrop , (I thought?)
Hendrickson out of Sac, offers this 7/7 type driving. But I haven't found anything but bad reports about them.
Anyway if someone as a lead on a company that offers this type of driving let me know . Thanks -
stay away from hendrickson!!!!!!!sal Thanks this.

I hate to say this because it's all teams, but my brother was with CRST. They had a 20/10 program where three people were assigned to the same truck. Each person teamed with each of the others for 10 days then went home for 10 days. It was 20 on, 10 off. My brother liked it when he was on that program. He had a medical emergency that took him off the truck. Perhaps permanently.

Hey Sal,
Neal79 is correct. It's for all New Hires, until they find a division for you OR you want to stay slip seating....word of caution...slip seat trucks may stink more than usual because some guys poop in the truck and well...they can't smell the stinch themselves. I have heard some "disgruntle prank stuff" they do when they give up the truck. Just make sure it's clean or don't take it, they may have you sit longer, but it's still your choice. Do a through pre trip inspection on your trucks and trailers, remember "it's always YOUR fault!" -
Well, that's a bit too much information...

Whats your signature line mean by Steve Jobs "don't live someone elses life?" Does that mean "Don't try to be a rockstar, moviestar, mega billion-aire?" Shucks man, right when I thought i was going to be in the next season of ice road puckers...
I guess Sal gave up the thread....I'm out
