I started my day, drove 1 hour, then unloaded. I then went to SB for 4 hours. Then I drove another 1 hour, then loaded new load. Now I’m in sleeper berth.
Question: Now how long to get back my unused drive hours? I already did 4 hours SB. Do I now have to sit for 8 new SB hours?

Yes
Your 4 hour counts as 2 as far as split rule is concerned
At the end of an 8 hour break now you will have 10 available hours to drive cuz only the first hour before the 4 hour break will fall off.IluvCATS Thanks this. -
You need 8 continues hours in the sleeper to use the split. The cats on the other hand just need a "cat" nap.

Another 8 hrs after you grab the second load. Should give you 9 hrs but you will still have to take a 30 min during the 9 hrs.

Cats always win. Came home one day found a dead squirrel on the porch and the cat was laying by the carcass. Getting her rest after chowing down squirrel meat.

I don't think HOS applies to Cats. They usually sleep up to 16 hrs a day, at random times. Just go til you feel tired.
IluvCATS and WesternPlains Thank this. -
We need to educate DOT about that. How dare they try to restrict cats.
