This cracks me up. 130 replies to the question: "8/2 Split explained in an easy to understand format". It goes back to the saying someone posted on here the other day. " Ask 3 truck drivers a question, and you'll get 4 different answers! Lol:biggrin_2551::biggrin_2559:

After I take my 3 hours offduty , instead of 7 hours sleeper berth can I do 10 hours to regain full 14 hours? Let's say after 10 hours off duty I have an appointment at 6 am where I am very close to receiver with only 15 minutes of driving and 45 minutes in on duty. but it takes 4 hous to unload which I spent in sleeper berth which gives me my hours back with this rule. After driving 10 hours if I stop for 7 hours it only gonna give me 15 minutes for driving so instead of 7 can I do 10 hours sleeper berth to get back my 14 hours?

Anytime you do 10 off, you'll get back a full 14.

Yes you can do the 10 and get back the full 11/14. But you still have to show that 7 hours in the sleeper as part of that 10. Even if doing the split got you home and the truck is sitting in your driveway.

The long period has to be 7 hours or more continuous on line 2 if the day was extended by 2 or more hours continuous line 1 and 2, and the sleeper period added to the shorter period must be 10 hours or more. Even if you're going off duty for an extended period

Keep Trucking shows a 14 hour violation even with the sleeper period first, which disappears after the split break is complete, and also shows drive time available after a split break is completed, if that display option is selected.

Mine has been not switching to the driveline automatically unless I make sure, but it corrects that by showing unassigned drive time, which is fixed by claiming it.
