SOOOOO wrong. 24 hour days are meaningless in regards to the 11/14 rules. It only applys for recovering hours on the 8th day.

On May 1st I go on duty and drive for however many hours but end my "day" driving at 00:30 on May 2nd. I log a 15 min postrip bring the end of my "day" to 00:45, Off duty and crash out for my 10.

May 2nd I go back on duty at 10:45, do a 15 min pretrip. Start driving at 11:00. At 17:00 I stop at my favorite T/S for dinner till 6 pm. At this point I have used 6 hours of drive time and 7.25 from my 14. Roll out and just sneak into a rest stop close to my delivery at 23:00. Complete my required 15 min postrip at 23:15.

That's 11 hours and 30 minutes of absolutely legal driving in the same 24 hour day.
