I drove that truck for my first 5 yrs on the road. My next truck had the standard H pattern. I could'nt shift that truck to save my life.

My favorite tranny I ever had was a 10 speed that split every gear. Sort of like 1, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2... know what I mean??? I loved that thing. Rather then low-5 SPLIT 5-9. Fun and easy tranny.
I guess that's a super 10? I never knew it was called that.

Sounds like a Super 10 to me.

Never heard of that R pattern before but sounds like it would be a nightmare to switch into a different truck after having that goofy pattern. And I thought 5X4 twin sticks had me scratching my head to figure it out.

That was the RTOO-XX13 gearbox, right? With the .62 top end ratio.

I'm guessing it was geared towards the O/O and not a big fleet. If memory serves, Eaton called it the "Performance 9 Speed".

Yessir thats the Performce 9. I haven't got a clue what type of 13 spd that was. The guy my boss bought it from had the last two gears swapped in it. It was in an 81 Freightliner. Big Cam 400, 13 Double OD with 3:55s.

I called it a "ring around the roses" pattern.

I used to get shuffled back and forth between one of those and a 13.

I was fine until I got in a hurry.....
