That will only be if your a slave to your company. Only accept loads that allow you to get up, drive and sleep. No reason to work all screwed up hours and ruin a sleep pattern. that is more dangerous than running 16hrs a day IMO.... no reason to start at 6am and drive till your 11 is up, sleep and then get right up and drive again till your driving at night by your last day.
I have the luxury of booking my own freight and also being a flatbed helps since most places are only open 7am - 4pm.... i do not miss the days when i pulled a refer trailer and spending 7 hours unloading at a warehouse at 2am.
8 day 70 hour rule?

Who you talkin to about Elogs? That's what I'm running...

Ok, I meant you must take a 34 hour break or wait until the 8th day drops off and you get hours back. If you wanna run at midnight when you pickup hours every day I guess you could try that. Just seems like easier to run a fresh 70

Yes I read that part.....so a receiver or shipper is considered a routine stop?

It's because of the liability for load etc, that it needs to be written that during these periods you are relieved of responsibility. Hazmat, as you can read later in that Interpretations is different because of different rules. That page there should answer all the questions you need about that section and what the DOT considers Off-Duty time and exceptions.acouplyr Thanks this. -
