Anyone running Pickett 8's with a mitre tip, or the flat cut top? Is rain an issue? Obviously you bucket them when sitting for any longer perioid, but even just a few hours in the rain etc.

Im currently running turnouts/bull haulers on my 379...and am thinking of swapping.

They will get rain in them easier than other exhaust. When you start the truck do one or two things....run like hell or get in the truck to avoid getting soot on you!

I've had turn outs on mine and still got soot on the truck so unless you havea grass burner its just a part of life.

You drill a small (1/8") hole on the lowest part of the exhaust, on both sides if needed.

It will still happen, but no where near as bad.

Anything 8" up in the air is going to collect some rain, doesn't matter what cut is on it, lol. I run 7" straight bullhaulers on mine.

What about those raincaps that go inside the top of the mitred stack? I thought about puttin some of those in my little 6inch mitre stacks but my truck never sees the rain workin construction lol. Mud is a different story.

Na i was just saying that me and my fellow high paid construction bretheren run home like babies when it rains but we have to drive through the mud and gravel pits the next day. Funny you mention full fenders, if you look at my truck pic, i have full stainless fenders on it. You cant tell from the pic but I crunched the driver rear fender on the first freakin day on the job.

I know a guy with 7 inch and he replaces the y-pipe about every other year, he doesn't have pickett elbows but I don't think it wold be any different. The 5 inch on my p/u collects ALOT of water if I forget to put the covers on
