So a guy says he wasnt paid for 9 weeks of running his butt off. Then the very next post someone says I hope they dont do that to me because im going there in a few weeks and. We sit around and wonder how companies like this exist. You know I shouldnt even waste my time writing this but here goes. When I first started to lean toward a job as a truck driver. The first thing I done was ask drivers that I met here and there about everything. One thing still rings in my mind. Dont work for CR England find a small company in your hometown. Whats funny about this is I had no idea that a web site like this existed. So now after eight years as a driver im still doing what I love. Just with a better idea of what it takes. DONT WORK FOR MEGA CARRIERS. It works for a few but it doesnt for A LOT.

It should make you nervous,if your only choice is one of these mega carriers do not lease. Don't believe the crap the recruiter is feeding you about fleasing ,it will ruin you.Listen to what these guys are telling you, they have been there and done it.

if enough drivers e mailed investigative tv journalists like john stossel or the guy who does "to catch a predator" may be they would make a great tv program about this subject.
maybe some of the cheer leaders and recruiters would become big tv stars

Not 100% true, I have several friends who make really good money leasing thru Alliance at Stevens Transport. Now every company is different, and lease terms are different. I believe it can be done, I believe it can be profitable. But I also believe that the trucking companies will NOT show you how to be profitable either.

I absolutely cannot muster any sympathy for anyone stupid enough to fall victim to this blatant robbery. Rather, I feel they should be ashamed of themselves and hopefully will leave this industry altogether. We are populated by enough idiots already, we don't need anymore.

I'm not necessarily going to lease. However I don't have anyone to team with, otherwise I would be willing to do company team. Company team would be ideal, but at this point I don't have anyone to do it with, but I am not stupid like you imply. My only goal at CRE is to get the required time behind the wheel, and move on with a better company. Thats it.

I to lease at Stevens and Im very successful at it.I netted 48 grand last year,Im not getting rich, but Im not going hungry either.Last week scanned 2930 miles and netted 1225.Some guys can make it work, some cant.I suggest getting experience as a company driver before even thinking of a lease.I also avg close to 1.5 days per week off.As flyingswine said, every companies different, and know they wont show you all the little things it takes to be successful on a lease. Its not easy, but it can be done. But Ive yet to hear of anybody on a cr england lease that has been successful.

Regardless, I've worked in the hospitality and airline industry for many years. I'm used to be screwed over by "the company." That being said, I'm not gonna let some peoples comments on here to discourage me from anything. I know the CRE is not ideal, but they are willing to take me and that is what matters. It's all about experience. That's what I need so I can get my golden ticket and move on with a better company. I'm still excited about my adventure starting tomorrow.
