Practice practice practice. Just keep doing it and you will get it. Guys who have driven for 40 years still pull up to straighten out. I drove otr and local here in NY into the city and all. Been in some hairy backing situations. I know work as a yard dog for the company I was driving for since the had to fire a yard guy and a spot opened up. Figured working in the yard would be less stressful than dealing with nyc all the time and traffic. I spend more time backing up a day than I do going forward. I like to think that I'm a very good driver and very good at backing but I still back slowly and will make a pull up or two if I feel the need. Sometimes I pull up a bit to straighten out just so I can get a better veiw not just because I won't make the back. Seeing where your going is everything. In our yard all our trailers are parked in a line at a angle to the right. Which means it's a blind side back everytime we park. Very stupid setup I know but it's the way they want it. So I'm completing the most difficult backing position every time. Practice and patience are two things you need a lot of to back without damaging anything. Just keep at it and you will be fine.
