Use the 'Quote' button at the bottom of the post you wish to quote. That will open a open a post window with the quoted post in it. Just edit out the parts you don't want with out changing the wording. Also make sure you leave in the [ quote] at the beginning and the [ /quote] at the end.

Without the spaces between the brackets and the text. I had to do that to demonstrate!

    Baack Thanks this.

How long ago did you guys go to Clark State? $1700??? I am currently going and paid a total of $4700. There were 11 in my class, everyone there was on a grant but me. I couldn't get anything free since I wasn't a "displaced worker" Never mind that I had never been a driver but I had been/was/am involved in the transportation industry. I can tell you that I struggled with most of the backing skills, a lot.

I went back in November of 1998. $4700 is still a steal compared to Tri-state and those other places. I was one of the first people to take that course, they had 3 cabovers, 2 old internationals and 1 old blue Kenworth. Only one of the Internationals was even street legal, the other 2 tractors stayed on the yard for backing practice. They had 3 48 foot trailers, only one of them was road-worthy. They had a 20 week course, and a 4 week course, which all the instructors hated because they all said 4 weeks wasn't enough time, and I tend to agree with them. I ran into one of my instructors a few months ago, he quit teaching and went back to driving, we both delivered at the same place, if I remember right it was south of Memphis. He didn't even remember me. I told him I remember him, the first time I sat behind the wheel of a big truck he was sitting in the jump seat and said "just don't kill me."

I did my homework on schools and didnt want to be at a "driver mill" school like Roadmasters. So I picked Clark State. I opted for the college credit, just in case. The course is 5 weeks, 2 in class, 1 in backing skills, and 2 driving. Wish it was 20 weeks or even 10. Then you are supposed to be proficient enought to take the cdl exam and pass it. The backing I struggled at and never did master it all. I went in there thinking I would have no problem learning to back. But I did. I had to drop the course till March due to a family emergency.
Have you been back there since you got out? The equipment is OK and probably all road worthy now. My work history is all trucking so I have a better understanding than some of my classmates when it came to things other than driving. It will come to them on the road, while I have the advantage of working in it.
Hopefully the economy will pick up between now and then so I can get a job.
With your sn being as it is, do you drive for the mustard company?

No I've never been back there. I left Clark state for stevens transport out of dallas texas, worked there for a year, went to jb hunt and have been working for them ever since.

My screen name was lifted from an old Beatles song.

hey guys sorry i've been out of action! anyway I paid like 3,000.00 for school cash. If you financed it was would of been like 5,000.00 ouch!!!

Tri State was good. No complaints there. just the guy at exam place was a bit picky. I go back this Fri to re-test. Hope I dont get same guy that likes to play god. Oh and yes you are allowed 2 pull ups but that jerk would only give them to me, once I got my tandoms past second set of cones. So make a long story short every time I didnt get back to that point he made me restart which of course took my 2 free pull ups away.

Im kinda praying I dont get the same guy! If so ill just have to slip the man $100.00 lol. Well good luck to you all and stay safe, wish me luck. I'll keep ya posted
