Your screen filter is located on the top of the pump next to the fuel solenoid ,a round cover with a flat screwdiver slot in it
flc120 Thanks this. -
thanks alot appreciate the conitunation of what you started to explain... problem is the factory international feed line port on these tanks is drawn from the BOTTOM of the tank there is no other tube inside the tanks this isnt a newer freightliner tank or kenworth tank which has thetubes your speaking of. These Intl tanks only draw from the bottom there is no other port on them.
now that i cleared that up. -
going out now to see what i find so if this filters clogged it wouldnt cause it suck in air would it? if the filter screen is clogged would it give the problems im speaking bout in this thread? -
Any restriction will give these symtoms

well i am running a line from tank to pump and it ran 10x better i had to get a new filter tomorropw as from so much on and off the seal on filter came loose.
i still need to get the tank cleaned.
i pulled out the screen on the top of the pump and it was clean as a whistle so she must be pullingair from somewhere. -
To see if the pump is sucking air. Install a hose onto the fuel pump inlet fitting. stick a funnel into the other end & hold the funnel up higher than the engine. Fill it with fuel & inspect the fuel pump for leaks. You are just using a gravity feed.

U can use clear tube I think 3/4 inch ,put one end on fuel pump and the other onto filter housing. U can also check for air leak at pump put tube onto nipple near fuel soliniod and place other end in a glass jar, if u see bubbles or milky coloured fuel u have a air leak

tomorrow i will buy new filter and i already have line run from tank directly to fuel pump bypassing the primary fuel filter and just using the one on the pump. was working good earlier just need new filter so i can do a road test.
