I have a 92 Pete 377 with the Detroit 60. I’m having a problem with cruise control not working. High idle usually works fine at start up, sometimes I have to tighten the terminals that go from one of the clutch switches to the sensor on the radiator tank, but once you drive it a little, you can’t get it to high idle until after you restart the truck. Never been able to use cruise. High idle only kicks off if I release the parking brake, doesn’t turn off if I depress the clutch, tap the brake pedal, or use the Johnson bar. Brake lights work fine, speedo and tach work fine, already replaced both clutch switches. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You should be able to turn idle up down with switch that you use to adj. the speed when cruz. control works, if nothing is working ck. clutch pedal ele. switch?

Had similar problems with electrical on 96 Volvo with 60s det. , taken to shop with description of issues, they were unable to pin point problem but, changed sensors to be sure. Still had issues show up intermittently ,plus new ones. Decided to see what I could do, acted as if might be grounding problems. Added batt to frame strap, helped some, - traced neg batt to rear of starter, from here was a jumper up to the eng block, from this point was 3 jump wires - ecm- frame- cab. Pulled bolt from eng block ( NOT EASY ACCESS) and cleaned terminals , bolt and block contact area as well as possible . Reinstall with some electrical grease , cured problems, maybe you have bad grounding also , that could be causing your issues?
