'94 9400 losing coolant

    Please let us know if you find where coolant is going I have the same problem with a 530 IH no water in oil pan no visible leaks and loosing one and half gallon per day changed radiator cap and thermostat for fun apparently with no change

    i put it in monday..will run it all week then flush...but i dont think this will solve my issue.

    im also getting a bunch of blow by coming out the valve breather...

    big update...been losing water even worse...like starting to warm up after only a few hours and add 4 gallons. got frustrated and dropped the pan today and did a leak down test. there it was...water pouring out of the cylinder closest to the firewall. i guess im going to pull the head off tomorrow and pull the sleeve out and hope i figure out the source...

    yes..its like a love hate kind if thing. glad i finally found the problem but a little nervous as to what i will need to fix it. im not an engine mechanic by any means but i also know my was around with a wrench. it doesn't seem to hard to pull the head off and replace the liner..if that's what it needs.

    Pull your injectors out and look down at the injector cup and make sure it isn't leaking. I could be leaking down on top of the piston.

    i will check that when i looked up through the bottom i seen water streaming down one side of the sleeve. i thought it was a little odd..and would be streaming from all sides. it was coming from the passenger side...

    big update!

    decided to do a in frame on it. i pulled that leaking liner ount and it was rough. pretty pitted in multiple areas. figured the rest of the liners would be the same condition. installed an in frame kit with all new bearings (mains and rods), new liners, new pistons, all new seals and gaskets, and sent the heads to get rebuilt. went back to work today and hopefully my problems are gone! noticed no blow by or coolant loss yet...

    figure i would put a few miles and see. looks like it solved my issues...no coolant loss..quicker response..and oil pressure actually went up. well, back to the other every day problems of owning a semi..lol
