    Short update

    Past week has been unkind.

Pads on forward trailer axle grabbed and desyroyed a tire, a caliper, pass side rotor. obviously a set of pads

Dragged it off to the shoulder, couldnt get caliper to release, had road call to guy, he came, got me moved to his shop, got that stuff replaced. (3,600$ including the road call, not cheap but comparatively not bad, replaced other pads/ rotor too, on discs, that was dirt cheap)

This am my throwout bearing starts going (probably) so now stealing my good 13spd ive wanted it in this truck instead of the 9 speed, so fair enough, just annoying for downtime timing.

And nearest 2k trans jack i can find is harbor freight, but nothing within 100 mi of me has stock...

Hrumph, buddy has one but his aqcuaintance borked the cylinder, gonna have to replace or repack it to use it... hrumph

Appreciate the offer, had thought bout asking, bit further than i wanted to go if i didnt have to :p

Buddy just dropped his by, tested the drop, its just a slow leakdown with 800 lb on it, so aside from some extra pumping at mid to high stroke, she'll work.

still probably try and get someone to repack it tho

They’re dangerous as hell. Roll off easy. Flimsy chains and plate doesn’t hold it. It should have a weight limit of 300lbs. I added a big plate with thick slotted angle iron at ends, with larger hardened bolts/nuts. Loose pinions make it lean and fall over with trans. I added washers as shims to wash pivot pinion. Sideway tilt mechanism is flimsy, impossible to adjust with weight on it, non hardened bolt with plastic knob that strips first time you try to use it. I replaced it with a hardened bolt, and used a big socket to turn it. I suggest a couple back up chains wrapped around the trans and frame at minimum, just in case. Stay behind it, not next to it. I work with a driver right now who had a trans roll off and pin him.

Buddys is a proper made for semi transmisions, not the harbor freight version will have a friction rubber pad under then ratchet to the platform 2 or 3 ways.

He actually made an extra cross support to add extra stability to the jack, when i pull the first trans will show a pic

Yeah, no intentions of putting myself in harms way, ill trash a perfect trans before i loose a finger or crush my leg

High quality smooth pavement is underrated, hell, id even take uneven horribly cracked concrete for this one

At least the other one should be easier
