I have a 2007 IH 9400 with a Cummins engine. I believe it is an ISX. What should the engine temp be when running with a load and when idling? Today, if I ran a load to the elevator it seemed to want to run 180-190. Then when it would idle it eventually got to 210. The fan would kick in slightly and it would cool down to 205 or so. If I unplug the fan solenoid and let the fan run all the time it stays right around 180 loaded or not. It has also had an issue of when it gets to 210 of blowing off the lower radiator hose. The second time it did it I replaced the hose with a new one along with new hose clamps. After that I unplugged the fan solenoid and let the fan run direct so the engine would run cooler. I have replaced the fan solenoid and the air conditioner is not currently charged so I would think that the AC high pressure switch would not factor in. The radiator was rodded out this summer and the water pump and thermostat were replaced at the same time. Before that it ran warm but didn't blow off the lower radiator hose. When the radiator was off the lower hose wasn't replaced for some reason. I do not have any coolant puking from the overflow. Any thoughts on what could be going on.

Cummins ISX fans are programmed to come on at about 207. Your temps are normal there. Hoses blowing off at 210 are from bad hoses or clamps too loose. 220 and up is when you have an overheating problem.
