That’s not how this works. 102” is legal. Doesn’t matter what size the trailer is.stwik, jamespmack, cke and 3 others Thank this.
-
So my assumption was correct.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

Do things like bricks and wood fit on deck without hanging over?Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
-
Bricks yes. Bricks are not wide. Lumber probably gonna hang over.jamespmack, cke and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
-
This is 100% correct, but I wonder how many times DOT looks at it and yanks you, thinking its a 102" deck with an overhang?D.Tibbitt, jamespmack, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this.

I wouldnt hesitate to get a 96 wide trailer. Only a couple loads would hang over the edge. May get u a 2nd look at the scale house but as long as the freight is less than 102 ur good to go
cke, Another Canadian driver and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -
Only some dressed lumber will, most bundles of lumber is less than 51" wide. For example tight 2X4 lumber bundles are maximum 49" wide and 2X6 are 50"wide.jamespmack, D.Tibbitt and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

The bricks I've hauled in the past never did but the bundled lumber did. Even if it hangs over it's no big deal as long as it's less than 102.D.Tibbitt and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Not a big fan of the 96 wide trailers, I have been pulled over for the DOT to check the width. some loads will hang over since you have the 102, dunnage and securement, just looks messy, I don't care for personally.
If given a choice, 102 all day.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
