99 4964 Frame Crack Suggestions

    A model is right about getting them done locally. Plus that way you can get them to fit "your" rails a lot better.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

    I went to our local shop who does most of the repairs in the area. Their lead fab guy looked at it and advised to just repair the cracks, then fish plate for now. Given the truck is 20 years old and not likely to be on the road for any more than 5 years he said it wouldn't be worth it.

    He said looking at the way the box is designed, as long as it's down, body roll should be at a minimum, and these cracks likely occurred from someone lifting the box loaded with the bags up, which has since been prevented (PTO kicks bags out.

    Either way, we'll try that for now, and if it starts to crack again I'll deal with it in our shop, which should be built by then.
