  4. Okay...whew...I finally got a break. Well, I guess I owe you guys a day 2 in orientation...keep in mind I'm doing this on my phone. So, day 2 was a lot of going over how and why, they do things at A&A Express. I probably heard the phrase, "call dispatch" ummm...78 times. Communication seems to be the BIG factor here at A&A and that is perfectly fine with me. We went over how to fill out the transflo trip sheets, the trailer inspection sheets, seal confirmation sheet. They touched on the 3 customers that we pull for that have specific instructions...John Morrell, Tyson and Schwan's. They give you loads of paperwork and talk to you about different types of scenarios. Anything from, can't find an empty to, blown tire on the trailer in the middle of the night to, fatality accident in downtown Los Angeles. I picked my load with Nick, the area planner, and decided on one that was a drop and hook in Sioux Falls and dropped anytime in Edwardsville, KS. I picked that up this morning at 1000 and dropped it a few hours ago. My take on the load was $704.55 Not too shabby. Right at $1.94 on actual miles. I wanted to keep my revenue up near $700 a day if possible, so that fit perfectly. I've already dropped that load, and now I'm waiting at the same customer (Millard refrigerated) in Edwardsville, KS for a load to Stockton, CA that should be loaded on a trailer by 0030 tonight. My take on that is $2338.25 right at $1.32 on actual miles. So much better than JCT. I don't want to sound ungrateful to JCT, but this is so much better. I'll do my best to update tomorrow. Aloha, goodnite

  6. So my truck is a 2015 Volvo 730 with 45k miles on it. It is a walk away lease. Follow me now, this is where it gets complicated but I kept asking around until I found out the answers. My truck payment is $600/weekly for 157 weeks. My first payment will be deducted on October 5th. There is a $53k buyout at the end that they will finance for you. $147,200 total. Pretty reasonable guys. My close friend is going to pay 168k for a truck through lone mountain leasing. Now, $405 monthly for truck related insurances spread out through each weekly settlement. $200 monthly for maintenance, obviously if you've run a truck before you know this isn't enough but this is all they take, $145 monthly for occ-acc, occupational accidental insurance, think workman's comp and $18.85 a month for prepass+ which is just prepass and ez pass combined basically. This is where it gets different. Every week excluding the last settlement of every month, my fixed cost will be my truck payment and a weeks worth of the truck insurances. So say in a 4 week month, the first 3 settlements will have a fixed deduction of $600 (truck) + $101.25 (truck insurances that are $405/monthly.) So my fixed payment week 1-3 is $701.25. The LAST SETTLEMENT of every month is $701.25 plus every thing else I mentioned above. So my last week's settlement every month will show a fixed deduction of $1065.10. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THIS. You have to ask the right people. There are no driver managers here. Just area dispatchers. They are big on calling in. I will gladly discuss this program, well what I know at this point anyway, lol, with any of you. Feel free to pm me. Aloha

    stormy379 and slickrick23 Thank this.
  7. Detention pay is as follows...2 hours after appt, call them. We get 100% of what is negotiated, but we have to call them. The reasoning is, we call and let them know, they call the shipper, shipper then lights a fire under their own shipping departments butt, or the shipper will call the consignee and get us out of there.

    KeithT1967 and slickrick23 Thank this.
